Who Am I And What is Scrapbooking all about?
I am Jules and run 'The Revolutionary Scrapbook Company'. I am passionate about Scrapbooking and have started my mini revolution to to abolish shoe boxes filled with precious photos. In there place will be beautiful archival quality albums not only with the pictures but also with the stories behind them. Scrapbooking is a fab way of storing your memories for future generations, showcasing those all important photographs and expressing yourself creatively.
My interest in this addictive hobby started three years ago when I had my little girl. One day my oldest daughter asked me how old she was when she first talked and I was mortified to realise that I just couldnt remember! When your children are young and achieving all their special milestones; first word, first crawl, first sat up, first day at big school etc, you assume that you will never ever forget this momentous occassion. UNFORTUNATELY, unless you are equipped with a super dooper memory you will, over time forget, the memories fade leaving only the photgraphs as evidence.
I now have started the very important job of recording my family history, and let me tell you, I'm having a ball!!! My 3 children each have a scrapbook album which chronicles their life, and they get lots of enjoyment from reading it themselves and showing it off to others. Scrapbooking is also a fantastic way to keep a diary of the year. I scrapbook birthday parties, holidays, days out, school events and seasonal celebrations. I always try and have my camera with me, although photos are not always necessary to create a layout!
The pages can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be:
1. Choose a photo
2. Select paper or cardstock to mount it on
3. 'Matt' the photo to make it stand out on the page
4. Journal the 'who', 'what''where' and 'when' and add embellishments.
